The Google has invited applications from the qualified CA, CMA for the post of Finance Controller.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Statistics, a quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 14 years of experience in corporate finance or cost management.
  • Experience with financial modeling, and working with data sets.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience leading cross-functional project teams through solid problem-framing and problem-structuring.
  • Ability to maintain executive presence and perspective in the midst of changing timelines and rapid decision making.
  • Ability to self-direct work in an unstructured, fast-paced environment, and be comfortable with ambiguity.
  • Ability to communicate insights clearly and influence effectively to highly technical management teams, combined with impeccable business acumen.
  • Excellent project management skills.

About the job

The Finance Operations team manages Google’s cash transactions on a global basis and ensures that Google’s incoming and outgoing cash processes are controlled, effective and efficient. As a member of this team, you’ll find innovative ways to manage our complex set of transactions. You’ll make processes more efficient and scalable, work to ensure the highest level of quality of our operations, and proactively minimize operational risk. Externally, you collaborate with our extended workforce partners and internally, you will collaborate across the multiple areas of the Financial Operations team.

As global compute capacity rapidly shifts to the public cloud, GCP delivers virtualized compute, big data/analytics, and machine learning tools to its customers at an unparalleled scale and speed, exposing Google’s infrastructure to external customers.

Our Financial Planning and Analysis team supports the Product, Engineering, and Operations teams that build and sell GCP products. We manage the Google Cloud profit and loss, including GCP business, data center expense, payroll, and other OpEx. We are an integral partner and strategic advisor to the Google Cloud leadership team, advising on how to invest resources to grow a solid and sustainable business.

The name Google came from “googol,” a mathematical term for the number 1 followed by 100 zeros. And nobody at Google loves big numbers like the Finance team when providing in depth analysis on all manner of strategic decisions across Google products. From developing forward-thinking analysis to generating management reports to scaling our automated financial processes, the Finance organization is an important partner and advisor to the business.

Responsibilities

  • Be the primary finance partner (CFO) for the head of India Development Center engineering organization.
  • Build out investment cases supporting various engineering efforts undertaken by the team, including but not limited to specialized agreement support.
  • Be a change agent, thoroughly analyze cost components, and work with cross-functional teams to build recommendations to minimize cost of doing business.
  • Ensure we are conducting business in the region with the highest standards of compliance and ethics, and build the financial frameworks and tools/systems required to deliver insight to the business.
  • Build out a local team of financial analysts, and mentor/coach/guide and be involved in career development of the team.
