The Ministry of Corporate Affairs has centralised the registration of the foreign companies. It has reallocated the authority from Registrar to Central Registration Centre ( CRC ). In order to facilitate this, the ministry has amended ‘The Companies (Registration of Foreign Companies) Rules, 2014.’
According to the new notification no. G.S.R. 491(E) dated 12th August 2024, all the registration of the foreign companies will be handled by the CRC. This mandatory requirement will come into force on September 9, 2024.

The Central Registration Centre (CRC) is an initiative by the Corporate Affairs Ministry aimed at streamlining government processes, established in 2016. As part of the Government Process Re-engineering (GPR) program, the CRC’s primary objective is to offer rapid incorporation services that align with global best practices.

The notification has substituted few words are as follows:
“Provided that the documents for registration by a foreign company referred to in sub-rule (3) of rule (3) shall be delivered in Form FC-1 to the Registrar, Central Registration Centre.”
These rules may be called the Companies (Registration of Foreign Companies) Amendment Rules, 2024
