On the alleged hacking issue of the new e-filing portal of income tax, the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has came up with an explanation on Tuesday that Infosys is working on the technical glitches on the portal, denying the hacking rumors spreading in the past few days.

As the new income tax website was celebrating its first anniversary, it was allegedly hacked by some hackers.

Assuring of data protection, the government said that there is no breach of data on the portal.

The official twitter handle of the department tweeted that “Issue relating to the search functionality of the e-filing website has come to our notice. The Income Tax Department is seized of the matter. @Infosys has been directed to look into it &  @Infosys has confirmed that they are resolving the issue on priority.

Last year, the finance ministry had summoned Infosys managing director and chief executive officer over troubles with the new income tax e-filing portal, which was launched on June 7 last year.
