The Finance Secretary Dr. Hasmukh Adhia last day told that strong actions would be taken against big Companies on failure to pass on the benefit of the Goods and Services Tax to the customers.

“We have now reduced taxes of bigger items. If we see any anomaly we will not get hold of the small retailers, we will catch the bigger companies,” Dr. Hasmukh Adhia told to DD News.

The Government has lowered tax rates on 178 items from 28 per cent to 18 per cent as per the GST Council’s decision after the meeting held on November 10th. Most goods under the 28 per cent slab earlier, except demerit goods, will now be taxed lower.
