The Minister of State for Finance, Shri Shiv Pratap Shukla has said that there is 28.4% growth in the number of e-returns filed by the income tax payers.
There has been a growth in the number of e-Returns filed by the individual taxpayers during the last four years.
In a written reply to a question in Lok Sabha today, the Minister said that the average net tax liability in the e-Returns filed by individual taxpayers during the period under reference is Rs. 49,656/-.
The number of income-tax returns filed and the annual growth rate during the last four financial years are as under:
