Goods and Services Tax, the biggest tax reform in India, implemented last year in the mid-night of June 30th in the central hall of Parliament, subsuming over a dozen indirect taxes such as excise duty, service tax, entry tax etc. The vision was to transform India to a ‘one nation one tax’ country.

Initially several glitches were there in the system and the revenue collection was not as expected by the Government. However, the system is slowly getting ready. Till now, over 1.11 crore businesses have obtained GST registration.
