In order to ensure preparedness for the Goods and Services Tax (GST) roll-out from July 1, the Government has launched two new web portals for taxpayers and practitioners.

The GST Council has launched a webpage for facilitating taxpayers a one-stop for all GST information and updates. The web page, http://www.gstcouncil.gov.in provides all the updates, including the notifications, circulars, etc issued by the department from time to time.

In another significant move, the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology has also launched a dedicated webpage for facilitating taxpayers with regard to addressing issues related to IT services and electronic goods.

“The webpage can be accessed through the ministry’s web portal http://meity.gov.in/. Individuals, companies, and entrepreneurs in the IT and electronics sector can visit the webpage for sector-specific information,” an official statement said here on Wednesday.

The web page also enables the filing of grievances in relation to the implementation of GST, it added.

Yesterday, the Central Government had notified www.gst.gov.in as the Common Goods and Services Tax Electronic web Portal for facilitating registration, payment of tax, furnishing of returns, computation, and settlement of integrated tax and the electronic waybill.
