A high-level meeting is to be held on 16th March to discuss the glitches in the Goods and Services Tax regime. Higher officials of the GST Policy Wing of the Central Board of Excise and Customs (CBEC) and the members of Goods and Services Tax Network (GSTN) will discuss the problems faced by the traders in the new indirect tax law.

GST and Customs, Pune Zone last day tweeted that “GST Open House Meeting is scheduled on 16-03-2018 at MCCIA, Pune by Member (GST), @CBEC_India accompanied by officials from DG GST, TRU, GST Policy Wing of CBEC and GSTN to discuss & resolve the various issues faced by the trade and industry.”

India’s biggest tax reform, the Goods and Services Tax law was launched on 1st July 2017 in India. From the very first day itself, the traders are struggling due to technical and other glitches.

Recently, the Bombay High Court, while hearing a petition filed by M/s Abicor and Binzel Technoweld Pvt. Ltd, has opined that the current GST regime is not ‘Tax-friendly’ and asked the Government to resolve the technical glitches in the Goods and Services Tax Network (GSTN) soon.

On Monday, while hearing the above case, Justice S C Dharmadhikari and P D Naik asked the Government to wake up and take measures to address the issues of the taxpayers before next hearing on 24th April 2018.
