ICAI forms Group to interact with Govt for Formation of NFRA Rules

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has formed a special group to interact with the Government on day-to-day basis for the formation of National Financial Reporting Authority ( NFRA ) Rules.

NFRA is a regulator for chartered accountants (CAs) to probe on financial crimes including money laundering.

The Central Government, on Thursday, had notified the rules relating to appointment of chairperson and members of National Financial Reporting Authority with effect from 21.03.2018. The establishment of National Financial Reporting Authority and creation of one post of Chairperson, three posts of full-time Members and one post of Secretary for NFRA.

The Council at its 374th meeting held on 21st – 24th March, 2018 while taking note of “The National Financial Reporting Authority (Manner of Appointment and other Terms and Conditions of Service of Chairperson and Members) Rules, 2018” (NFRA), notified by Central Government in the Gazette of India on 21st March, 2018 decided to constitute a Group to interact with the Government on day to day basis in connection with the formation of Rules of the National Financial Reporting Authority, comprising of the following members:

  1. (Dr.) Debashis Mitra, Convenor
  2. Nilesh S. Vikamsey
  3. S.B. Zaware
  4. Shyam Lal Agarwal
  5. Sanjay Vasudeva
  6. K. Sripriya
  7. Shri Vijay Jhalani

Sarikia Singhal, Deputy Secretary, (Secretary, CLCGC) would be the Secretary to the aforesaid Group.
