The Central Government today extended the tenure of the current President of the Income Tax Appellate Tribunal (ITAT) Shri. G.D Agarwal.
A notification issued by the Ministry of Law and Justice stated that the extension is till the appointment of a new president.
Shri. G.D Agarwal was Born on 07 Jul 1957 at Rajnandgaon (M.P.), Shri Gopal Das Agrawal did his schooling in Rajnandgaon. Educational Qualification of Shri Agrawal is B. Com., LL.B., F.C.A. He has practiced as Chartered Accountant for 15 years (1980-1994) at Raipur (M.P.).
On 31st May 1994, Shri Agrawal joined the Tribunal as Accountant Member at Delhi Benches and later on elevated as Vice President on 15th February, 2006 and posted at Kolkata. On superannuation of Justice Shri Dev Darshan Sud, President, ITAT, Shri G.D. Agrawal, Vice President assumed charge as officiating President of the Income Tax Appellate Tribunal on 17.02.2017 (A/N). During his service as Accountant Member and Vice President, he was posted at New Delhi, Jabalpur, Mumbai, Ahmedabad and Kolkata.
