Madhya Pradesh Govt extends Due Date for completing VAT Assessments [Read Notification]

The Madhya Pradesh Government has extended the last date for completing assessments and re-assessments under the Madhya Pradesh Value Added Tax ( VAT ) Act and other Acts.

The Notification issued by the State Government said that “all such assessments and re-assessment proceedings of dealers liable to pay tax under the Madhya Pradesh Vat Act, 2002, the Central Sales Tax Act, 1956, Madhya Pradesh Vilasita, Amod Aram Vigyapan Kar Adhiniyam, 2011 and he Madhya, Pradesh StlianiNa KNhetra Nie Mal Ke Pravesh Par Kar Adhiniyam, 1976 which have to be completed by the end of the calendar year 2011i under the provisions of subsection 17 of section of the Madhya Pradesh VAT Act, 2002 cannot be completed within the prescribed period cannot be completed within the prescribed period despite all possible efforts being made by the assessing authorities and that in order to enable the assessing authorities and that in order to complete such proceedings on merits, it is essential that the time limit prescribed for the completion of such proceeding be extended up to 30th June 2019.”

The Notification issued by the Government said that the due date for completing such assessment and re-assessment proceedings in respect of every dealer under the said Acts which is not completed by the 31st December 2018.
