GST: UP to implement E-Way Bill from December 16 [Read Notification]

Uttar Pradesh is all set to implement the provisions of e-way bill under the new Goods and Services Tax law from 16th December 2017 for transportation of goods within the State, from the State and to a place outside the State.

The notification issued by the State GST department on Wednesday said that Form E-way bill-02 is mandatory during the transportation or transit storage of certain goods specified in the circular when the value of such goods exceed rupees Fifty thousand.

As per the notification, e-way bill-02 is compulsory for transportation of goods such as Mentha Oil, Menthol, supari, all types of edible oil and vanaspathi ghee, Coal tar, tar coal and charcoal, paper of all kinds including news print, cigerratte, pan masala,  pan masala, tyre and tube etc.

As per the E-way Bill provisions, both the inter-State and intra-State movement of goods above Rs 50,000 is required to be pre-registered online. Earlier, when a few days were left for the GST rollout, the Central Government had decided to postpone the implementation of the provision since it was not sure about the technological backbone.
