PM to Launch Revised Syllabus for Chartered Accountancy Today

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch the revised Chartered Accountancy syllabus at all levels today.

Reportedly, the syllabus change news has been confirmed by G Ramaswamy, former president of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI).

The Hindu reported him as saying that the number of students pursuing CA will also increase in the coming few months because of tax reforms.

The syllabus revision has been done in accordance with International Education Standards of the International Federation of Accountants. To aware the students about the same, a two-day conference was held in Coimbatore from Saturday in which about 1,300 students took part. ICAI will conduct November 2017 CA exams from November 2-16 this year at 172 cities across India and in four cities abroad — Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Kathmandu and Muscat.

The full schedule for the exams is available on the official website (icai.org) of ICAI. Chartered Accountant is one of the most sought after professions in India. ICAI, The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India conducts the process and certifies the students as a Chartered Accountant (CA) after candidates successfully complete the course. There are four levels in a CA exam (1) CPT (Common Proficiency Test) (2) IPCC/IPCE (Integrated Professional Competence Course) (3) Three years of Articleship under any C.A who is practising the profession and (4) CA Final Exam.
