DGFT Revises RoDTEP Schedule to Align with Customs Tariff Act Amendments [Read Notification]

Through this notification, the DGFT made specific additions, deletions, and modifications to the tariff lines in the RoDTEP schedule

The Directorate General of Foreign Trade ( DGFT ) under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry has updated the Remission of Duties and Taxes on Exported Products ( RoDTEP ) schedule through Notification No. 39/2024-25 dated October 28, 2024. The changes are effective retroactively from October 1, 2024.

The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) has made specific additions, deletions, and modifications to the tariff lines in the RoDTEP schedule following the amendments to the Customs Tariff Act as proposed in the 2024 Finance Bill.

According to the official notification:

  • 39 new tariff lines have been introduced at the 8-digit level to the RoDTEP schedule.
  • 13 existing tariff lines have been deleted from the schedule.
  • Descriptions of 02 tariff lines at 8 Digit level have been updated.

Exporters can now access the updated HS codes as in Para along with their corresponding RoDTEP rates and value caps on the DGFT portal – www.dgft.gov.in under the “Regulations > RoDTEP” section.

The adjustments to the RoDTEP Schedule (Appendices 4R and 4RE) reflect the latest changes in the Customs Tariff Act effective from October 1, 2024, ensuring consistency with the First Schedule of the Act. The RoDTEP rates for these items will vary slightly by period, covering October 1 to October 9, 2024, and October 10, 2024, onward indicated by detailed tables available on the DGFT portal.

The notification was signed by Santosh Kumar Sarangi, Director General of Foreign Trade and Ex-officio Additional Secretary to the Government of India, formalizing these updates.
