Background

The Black Money (Undisclosed Foreign Income and Assets) and Imposition of Tax Act, 2015 was established to deal with the problem of black money kept in foreign countries. It aims to handle unreported foreign income and wealth that are not taxed in India. This act also enforces strict penalties on those who hide such income and encourages people to declare their undisclosed foreign assets voluntarily.
