Finance Ministry Updates Customs Tariff Values for Palm Oil, Soya Bean Oil, Gold, Silver, and Areca Nuts [Read Notification]

The Finance Ministry has updated Customs tariff values, increasing Crude Palm Oil, Gold, Silver, Brass Scrap, and Areca Nuts while decreasing RBD Palm Oil and other Palm Oils.

The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) under the Ministry of Finance issued Notification No. 10/2025-Customs (N.T.) dated February 14, 2025, revising the tariff values for imported commodities, including various types of edible oils, brass scrap, gold, silver, and areca nuts. These changes will come into effect on February 15, 2025.

The tariff value for Crude Palm Oil has increased slightly, while RBD Palm Oil, Other Palm Oils, Crude Palmolein, RBD Palmolein, and Other Palmoleins have seen a decrease compared to the previous values. The tariff value for crude soybean oil has also decreased, continuing its downward trend. The tariff value for Brass Scrap (all grades) has seen a marginal increase.

For gold and silver, the tariff values have been increased across all categories, reversing the previous trend of reductions. The tariff value for areca nuts has surged significantly to $8140 per metric tonne, marking a sharp increase of $1692 per metric tonne from the earlier rate of $6448 per metric tonne.
