The Director-General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) on Thursday notified the procedure and criteria for submission of application for the export of Diagnostic Kits; ⅔ Ply Surgical Masks and Medical Goggles.
The Government has fixed the export quota for the purpose of the diagnostic kits wherein the 238 Lakh units of VTM Kits; 149 Lakh of RNA Extraction Kits; 34 Lakh of RT-PCR Kits-single tube; 40 Lakh of RT-PCR Kits-double tube; and 40 Lakh of RT-PCR Kits-triple tube can be exported.
The export of Diagnostic kits as per the export quota fixed will be allowed for the month of August. Exporters i.e. only manufacturers may apply online through the DGFT ECOM system for Export authorizations (Non-SCOMET Restricted items). There is no need to send any hard copy of the application via mail or post. Exporters who have already filed an online application for the export of these diagnostic kits need not again.
The export of 20 Lakh Medical Goggles will be allowed for the month of August and September.
The export of 4 Crores of ⅔ Ply Surgical Masks will be allowed for the month of August.
Online applications for export of Diagnostic Kits (VTM/RNA Extraction kits/RT- PCR Kits), Medical Goggles, and ⅔ Ply Surgical Masks filed from 5 to 8 August 2020 will only be considered.
