The Abu Dhabi Accountability Authority ( ADAA ) has teamed up with the Department of Government Enablement to launch the first-ever Community of Practice ( COP ) for internal auditors across entities under its mandate.
The initiative, aims to strengthen the quality and effectiveness of internal audit practices in Abu Dhabi, is part of ADAA’s effort to uphold accountability, integrity, and transparency within the emirate’s governance framework.
The inaugural session of the COP, held on November 25, 2024, attracted over 100 participants, including heads of internal audit from various sectors across the emirate.

During the interactive session, participants were introduced to the goals and structure of the COP, as well as the latest regulations and guidelines from the ADAA. Key discussions also centered around the implementation of advanced auditing strategies, including Artificial Intelligence ( AI ) and digital transformation in auditing processes.
“The CoP is designed to establish a robust communication channel between ADAA, as a regulatory authority, and internal audit practitioners across subject entities. CoP intended to foster collaboration and the sharing of best practices to raise internal audit quality standards.
