State Street is hiring candidates with accounting experience for the role of Global Accounting Operations – Emerging Lead at their Bangalore location. Candidates with 6-8 years of progressive experience in Project Accounting areas with major financial institutions are required.

Job Descriptions

The Project Accounting SME will be responsible for day-to-day project accounting function activities and administration, reporting creation, and customer service handling in order to provide support to the State Street organization.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, 6-8 years of progressive experience in Project Accounting areas with major financial institutions.
  • Extensive practical experience and knowledge of the US GAAP.
  • In-depth knowledge of project accounting activities such as deferrals and amortization for capitalized projects.
  • Manage the monthly and quarterly deferral reporting process.
  • Provide analysis and commentary for the financial dashboard presented to the corporate controller.
  • Review business processes for efficiency, identify corrective action, recommend, document, and implement change. Experience in building and maintaining a strong control environment (risk excellence, experience with SOX, RCSA controls, etc.), establishing policies, procedures, and strong internal controls.

Skills required

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word, Visio), advance levels of Excel (pivot tables, formulas, excel workbook maintenance best practices)
  • Knowledge of Oracle Financials & other internally developed products
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills in English, prior experience of interacting with multiple stakeholders (Legal Entity and Geography controllers) in NA, EMEA, APAC
