The Assam State Government has suspended E-Way Bill generation amidst the ongoing protest against Citizenship Amendment Bill, 2019.
The Citizenship (Amendment) Act, 2019, is legislation passed by the Parliament of India on 11 December 2019. It amends the Citizenship Act of 1955 by providing a path to Indian citizenship for religious minorities.
E-Way Bill is an Electronic Waybill for movement of goods to be generated on the E-Way Bill Portal. It will be generated when there is a movement of goods in a vehicle/ conveyance of value more than Rs. 50,000.
