The Barclays has invited applications for the post of Assistant Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Lead, motivate, and develop team to create a high performance culture and enhance the knowledge base, skills, talent and capability.
- Ensure adherence to service level agreements (SLAs).
- Ensure seamless delivery of operations.
- Ensure all controls are adhered to and build internal control mechanism to support the same.
- Identify process improvement opportunities and recommend solutions.
- Manage quality in own area of work.
- Understanding of Balance sheet reconciliation’s integrity,static & Production activities.
- Manage reconciliation exceptions and ensure closure in timely manner
- Preparation/Approvals of the Accounting Journals with appropriate back up & approvals.
- Establish clear linkages within various Market Operation Processes
- Build relationship with the departments(Prodcut/Financial Controllers, GMO Ops teams & Technology teams) key stakeholders to ensure business needs are understood and to enhance the service offering.
- Act as day to day escalation point for key stakeholders and resolve complex issues and difficult situations.
- Responsible to help the GRS meet Control and efficiency goals by implementation of appropriate business process and system changes related to reconciliations function.
- Support Age Day 1 reconciliation breaks analysis to identify the root cause of exceptions.
- Support the manager in implementing business and change management initiatives.
Qualifications:
- B Com/ MBA with relevant years of experience.
- Relevant years of relevant experience for a graduate and Relevant years’ experience for Chartered Accountant (CA)/ Masters in Business Administration (MBA)/ Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
- Effective oral and written communication in both formal and informal settings, and at all levels of seniority
- Experience in Reconciliation, exception/breaks management, processing, rejection management and reporting are crucial.
- Advanced working knowledge and understanding of Banking control framework – who can challenge, system administration including static setup, Reconciliation, Breaks management and reporting processes
- Knowledge of SOX and Operational Controls and should have experience of working in control enabled environment
- Good technical and analytical skills relating to build and enhance reconciliation platform and exception management function.
- Good understanding of the reconciliation trade life cycle flow within investment banking environment.
- Ability to drive changes in complex situations.
- Good understanding of reconciliations (external & internal) and related support activities (eg, integrity checks and other admin processes) where they fit in the broader trade lifecycle and the associated front-to-back control approach.
- Good knowledge of the Barclays businesses which GRS support, including specific knowledge of one or more of the following Corporate, Wealth & Barclaycard
- Familiarity with the Intellimatch platform and Barclays’ internal reconciliation systems.
