Hewlett Packard Enterprise has invited applications for the post of Chief Risk Officer.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • University degree or advanced university degree in Finance/Accounting required along with an experience of 10 – 15 years in Risk Management/Operations.
  • Experience in NBFC environment and risk management
  • Experience interacting with senior leaders
  • Exceptional leadership skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate and influence /act independently at senior management level
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Knowledge and Skills Required

  • Strong financial and business acumen
  • In-depth knowledge of the legal and regulatory environment as it relates to risk management
  • Project management skills.
  • Communication and influence skills, including both written and verbal forms.
  • Quantitative and qualitative analytical skills, including competency in financial analysis.
  • Ability to apply management core competencies in working with both internal clients and external partnerships.

 RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for HPFS risk management function, including ensuring that HPFS has an effective risk management framework in place to identify, measure, mitigate, monitor, and report the risks to which it is or might be exposed to in day-to-day business activities.
  • Provide an ongoing, independent appraisal to ensure that effective policies, processes, limits and controls are in place to manage risks;
  • Develop and manage an effective risk management team, including setting of objectives, performance appraisals and people development;
  • Promote sound and effective risk management and an appropriate risk culture at all levels of HPFS through active participation in the Company’s governance and management framework along with appropriate education and training of staff.
  • Ensure that the risk function is kept up to date with all necessary developments in the external regulatory environment with respect to risk management and look for ways for HPFS to adopt best practice.
  • Provide input into the Business’s strategic direction by becoming an active member of the HPFS management team.
  • Responsible for the facilitation of the setting of the risk appetite by the HPFS board and for the development and management of HPFS’s risk appetite framework.
  • Communicate on a regular basis to the HPFS Board and Risk Committee and ensure that corrective action plans are agreed and implemented for any deviation identified.
  • Responsible for providing comprehensive and timely information on HPFS’s material risks which enables the Board to understand the overall risk profile of the institution.
  • Be an active member of the following HPFS Committees: Risk Management Committee Asset & Liability Management Committee
  • To ensure operational risk management under the Risk Management Framework
  • To be a member of the ‘new product’ review (retail or wholesale), vet the new product from the angle of inherent and control risks
  • Oversee the maintenance of HPFS ICAAP, ILAAP and Recovery Plan
  • Liaise with the Company’s external auditors and regulators if necessary
