“Been sitting at the Laxmi Nagar Income Tax Office, Delhi…..and there’s no sign of staff or officers” Distressed CA posts on X
The lack of accountability at Government limbs is a matter of grave concern for the average citizen

A post published by Chartered Accountant ( CA ) Sanjay Sharma highlights the sad state of affairs at the Laxmi Nagar Income Tax Office, Delhi wherein the CA was kept waiting for the concerned staff and officers from 10 AM till 11 AM, but was left looking at his own reflection in his watch.
The post on X (Formerly Twitter) which went on air at 11:07 A.M. on 20 January, 2025 showcases the distress faced by the average taxpayer to get the ball rolling in most Governmental Offices. While this is not the case in all limbs of the Government, it is pertinent to note that a few bad apples can tarnish the efficacy and repute of the Government officials to great extents.
The calls for accountability did not fall on deaf ears as the official X handle of ‘Income Tax India’ responded that upon their review, it was found that the officials at the Aaykar Seva Kendra (ASK) Centre were in position and functioning from 9:20 A.M. on the particular day, while also advising CA Sanjay Sharma to approach the ASK counter for any assistance.
However, Income Tax India’s vindication was short-lived as the CA hit back stating that the concern wasn’t regarding ASK Staff but the absence of officials like Commissioner, ACIT, DCIT, AO, Inspector, and Clerk during that time.
The CA further advised the Department Handle to address the issue directly without redirecting or misguiding (sic).

A number of Handles roof part in the tuffle on X, with ‘@jeevanmorir’ posting “The taxpayers have become a joke to the political parties, they have been most disrespectful towards tax payers. I think we should start a movement of "no buy". Do noy buy anything, without which you can't survive. Not even more than one vegetable at a time. Let's see.”
Some accounts faced the situation with a dash of satire replying to CA Sanjay Sharma’s post saying “Kafi Jaldi pahuch gaye sir aap… 12 se pahle sarkari daftar me nahi jana chahiye.” ("You arrived quite early, sir… One shouldn't go to a government office before 12.")
While numerous services are available on the respective online portals, a lot of services and clarifications require in-person attendance at the Tax Offices, but conversations with walls are never fruitful.
