The Central Processing Centre ( CPC ) Bangalore Income Tax Department is taking steps to address public grievances with the launch of a dedicated Grievance Redressal Month. This would help to resolve the grievances soon as a full month will be dedicated.

The Grievance Cell, a pivotal component of this endeavour, plays a vital role in receiving and resolving grievances from the public. Petitions are accepted through multiple avenues:

  1. Assessees can file grievance petitions in person at the main Information and Facilitation Counter.
  2. Petitions can be sent by post directly to the Grievance Cell.
  3. Assessees also have the option to email their petitions to the Public Relations Officer.

Upon receipt, each petition is assigned a unique Registration Number, promptly communicated to the petitioner, assuring them of ongoing redressal efforts. The Grievance Cell operates within a computerised environment, enabling real-time monitoring of petition status and timely reminders to Assessing Officers.

Notably, petitions received from esteemed offices such as the Prime Minister’s Office, Finance Minister’s Office, Central Board of Direct Taxes, or Ombudsman are accorded top priority and addressed expeditiously.
