The Goods and Services Tax Council has issued a public notice on their website warning people about these scams. The notice states that the general public is “hereby notified & forewarned not to respond to such fake calls/ e-mail to deposit amounts in individual bank accounts.”
The Goods and Services Tax Council is not responsible for any fraudulent activity that may occur. They advise that any complaints should be made to the police.
