The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) has notified that no Goods and Service Tax (GST) is applicable on the medicines namely Tocilizumab and Amphotericin B which are used to treat Black Fungus. The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) has notified that no Goods and Service Tax (GST) is applicable on the medicines namely Tocilizumab and Amphotericin B which are used to treat Black Fungus.
The Government imposed 5% on Remdesivir which has been used widely to treat coronavirus disease Covid-19 patients, Heparin (anti-coagulant), Itolizumab, Posaconazole, Infliximab, Bamlanivimab & Etesevimab, Casirivimab & Imdevimab, 2-Deoxy-D-Glucose, and Favipiravir.
The notification shall come into force from the 1st October 2021 and remain in force up to and inclusive of the 31st December 2021.
