The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) has notified that no Goods and Service Tax (GST) is applicable on the medicines namely Tocilizumab and Amphotericin B which are used to treat Black Fungus.
The Government imposed 5% on Remdesivir which has been used widely to treat coronavirus disease Covid-19 patients, Heparin (anti-coagulant), Itolizumab, Posaconazole, Infliximab, Bamlanivimab & Etesevimab, Casirivimab & Imdevimab, 2-Deoxy-D-Glucose, and Favipiravir.
The notification shall come into force from the 1st October 2021 and remain in force up to and inclusive of the 31st December 2021.
