The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has removed the name of six Chartered Accountants (CAs) namely CA. Shamit Tridash Majmudar, C.A.Ketan Ramji Bhanderi, C.A.Murali Manohar Lakhotia, CA. M Balasubramanian, Vishnu Kant Gupta and C.A.Hrushikesh Vinayak Deodhar 3 years, 3 months, 1 year, 6 months, 7 days and 1 year respectively on the ground of professional misconduct.
The notification said that in terms of the provisions of Section 21B(3) of the Chartered Accountants Act, 1949 read with Rules 18(17) and 19(1) of the Chartered Accountants (Procedure of Investigations of Professional and Other Misconduct and Conduct of Cases) Rules, 2007, the Disciplinary Committee has held CA. Shamit Tridash Majmudar, C.A.Ketan Ramji Bhanderi, C.A.Murali Manohar Lakhotia, CA. M Balasubramanian, Vishnu Kant Gupta and C.A.Hrushikesh Vinayak Deodhar guilty of Misconduct.
CA. Murali Manohar Lakhotia (Membership No. 208704), shall stand removed from the Register of Members for a period of 1 year with effect from 3rd September, 2021.
CA. M Balasubramanian (Membership No. 201347), shall stand removed from the Register of Members for a period of 6 months with effect from 3rd September, 2021.
CA. Vishnu Kant Gupta (Membership No. 405904), shall stand removed from the Register of Members for a period of 7 days with effect from 3rd September, 2021.
CA. Hrushikesh Vinayak Deodhar (Membership No. 125625), shall stand removed from the Register of Members for a period of 1year with effect from 3rd September, 2021.
CA. Shamit Tridash Majmudar (Membership No. 010595), shall stand removed from the Register of Members for a period of 3 years with effect from 3rd September, 2021.
CA. Ketan Ramji Bhanderi (Membership No. 125428), shall stand removed from the Register of Members for a period of 3 months with effect from 3rd September, 2021.
