The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India ( ICAI ) has made an important announcement regarding the CA Examination to be conducted in the month of may. The ICAI is to reopen the correction window with effect from 27th to 29th March 2024.
The ICAI announcement states as follows:
“In continuation to Important Announcement dated 25th January 2024 and 19th March 2024, in order to facilitate the examinees, who have already applied for May 2024 CA Examinations, it has been decided to re-open the online request for change in examination city, group and medium.
Therefore, candidates of Chartered Accountants Intermediate and Final Examinations seeking change of examination city, group and medium can avail this online facility available at https://eservices.icai.org (Self Service Portal – SSP) w.e.f. 27th March 2024 (10 AM) to 29th March 2024 (11.59 PM).
However, it is clarified that other particulars / details as announced vide Important Announcement dated 25th January 2024 read with Important Announcement dated 19th March 2024 hosted on www.icai.org shall remain unchanged.
The students are advised to note the above and stay in touch with the website of the Institute, www.icai.org.”
The ICAI has changed the CA examination dates due to the Lok Sabha elections. In the official announcement of ICAI, the CA Final – Group 1 has been scheduled from 2nd May 2024 and Group 2 from 10th May 2024. With regards to CA intermediate – Group 1 has been scheduled 3rd May 2024 and Group 2 from 11th May 2024.
The rescheduled dates have come under criticism due to their timing, which falls between the election period, effectively hindering candidates’ fundamental right to vote. With the announcement of the correction window date by the ICAI, any further rescheduling of the exam appears unlikely.
