The JPMorgan Chase & Co.invited applications for the post of External Reporting Controller-Associate

      Qualifications

  • MBA, CA or equivalent professional credential
  • 4-8 years accounting or audit experience, with banking experience a plus
  • Previous role at a large public accounting firm, financial institution, and/or external reporting role preferred
  • Understands external reporting data sources and analysis techniques & tools including controls and ability to read, write & communicate data in context, providing meaningful insights that drive impact
  • Experience with of SAP, CDGL, BPC, Financial Reporting Infrastructure (FRI), Credit Reporting Infrastructure (CRI/CRRT), Essbase a plus
  • Flexibility to work under pressure to meet changing work requirements and strict deadlines, including working certain weekends during quarter end reporting cycles
  • Ability to effectively prioritize competing deadlines and requests and effective at building relationships across functional teams and
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex and sensitive issues to management in a concise and persuasive manner
  • Proven skills in identifying and solving control issues that may impact external reporting and mindset of continuously looking for ways to do things more effectively and efficiently

       Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and perform monthly/quarterly submissions and validations related to SEC and regulatory reporting (Call report, Y9C, CCAR, etc)
  • Assist with CB central control functions such as credit costs, legal entity control, fair value control, chart of account management
  • Participate in SOX, CCAR and CORE control programs and partner with others in the line of business (finance and non-finance) and corporate functions
  • Assist with ad hoc requests for information related to external reporting submissions with executive level presentation materials
  • Provide assistance with issue resolution related to external reporting submissions and respond to audit (external and internal) inquiries
  • Strategize on improving current data capture processes for quarterly reporting and participate in implementation of new controls, strategic solutions, and new FASB standards
  • Participate in system testing and implementation of new external reporting requirements and participate in development of training material and best practices documentation
