The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has notified the removal of four chartered accountants from the Member’s register.
This is after the Disciplinary Committee has found 4 Chartered Accountants guilty of professional misconduct. The names of the 4 Members has been removed from the Register along with the Fine.
Discipline Committee has held CA. Sunil Kumar Agrawal (Membership No. 075953), M52, Rajeev Nagar, RAIPUR 492 007, guilty of ‘Other Misconduct’ in terms with Section 22 of the the Act and consequently ordered for removal of the name of CA. Sunil Kumar Agrawal (Membership No. 075953) from the Register of Members for a period of 01(One) month and also imposed a fine of Rs. 1,00,000/- (Rupees One Lakh) only to be paid within a period of 60 days.
“In pursuance thereof and in exercise of the powers conferred by subsection (2) of Section 20 of the aforesaid Act, it is hereby notified under Regulation 18 of the Chartered Accountants Regulations, 1988 that the name of CA. Sunil Kumar Agrawal (Membership No. 075953) shall stand removed from the Register of Members for a period of 01(One) month with effect from 4th August, 2022,” the notification issued on Thursday said.
Further, the Discipline Committee has held CA. Mayur Batra (Membership No. 096613), 7 Barakhamba Road, NEW DELHI 110 001, guilty of Professional Misconduct falling within the meaning of Items (5),(6),(7) and (11) of Part I of the First Schedule to the Act and consequently ordered for removal of the name of CA. Mayur Batra (Membership No. 096613) from the Register of Members for a period of 03(Three) months and also imposed a fine of Rs. 1,00,000/- (Rupees One Lakh) only to be paid within a period of 60 days.
Another notification issued on Thursday stated that “In pursuance thereof and in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (2) of Section 20 of the aforesaid Act, it is hereby notified under Regulation 18 of the Chartered Accountants Regulations, 1988 that the name of CA. Mayur Batra (Membership No. 096613) shall stand removed from the Register of Members for a period of 03(Three) months with effect from 4th August, 2022.”
The Committee further held CA. Jatta Shankar Prasad Kushwaha (Membership No. 543029), H No. D-156, Gali No. 6, Laxmi Nagar, Delhi 110 092, guilty of Professional and Other Misconduct falling within the meaning of Items (8) and (9) of Part I and Item (2) of Part IV of the First Schedule read with Section 22 of the aforesaid Act and consequently ordered for removal of the name of CA. Jatta Shankar Prasad Kushwaha (Membership No. 543029) from the Register of Members for a period of 15(Fifteen) days and also imposed a fine of Rs. 5,000/- (Rupees Five Thousand) only to be paid within a period of 60 days.
“In pursuance thereof and in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (2) of Section 20 of the aforesaid Act, it is hereby notified under Regulation 18 of the Chartered Accountants Regulations, 1988 that the name of CA. Jatta Shankar Prasad Kushwaha (Membership No. 543029) shall stand removed from the Register of Members for a period of 15(Fifteen) days with effect from 4th August, 2022,” the third notification said.
In another notification, the Disciplinary Committee has held CA. Rishi Kapoor (Membership No 511912), House No. WE-55, Rama Park Road, Mohan Garden, Uttam Nagar, NEW DELHI 110 059, guilty of Professional Misconduct falling within the meaning of Clause (4) of Part II of Second Schedule to the aforesaid Act and consequently ordered for removal of name of CA. Rishi Kapoor (Membership No 511912) from the Register of Members for a period of 05(Five) years and also imposed a fine of Rs. 3,00,000/-(Rupees Three Lakhs only) to be paid within 30 days of receipt of the order.
“In pursuance of the aforesaid Order of the Disciplinary Committee and in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (2) of Section 20 of the aforesaid Act, read with Regulation 18 of the Chartered Accountants Regulations 1988, it is hereby notified that the name of CA. Rishi Kapoor (Membership No 511912) shall stand removed from the Register of Members for a period of 05(five) years with effect from 4th August, 2022,” it said.
