Job description

 Team Lead – General Accounting is responsible for managing teams which are responsible for maintaining financial accounts and closing statutory books of subsidiaries and legal entities

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Oversight and review over preparation process of Financial Statements after any appropriate eliminations or consolidations and statutory compliances
  • Engage with business and stakeholders for resolution of General Accounting queries, issues, and escalations at the local, regional and global level
  • Present decks for meeting management and customer requirements
  • Review recurring entries, rule-based workings, month-end checklists, and process changes
  • Respond promptly to miscellaneous data requests and audits, run matching engines, and upload statements.
  • Review integrity and accuracy of transaction recording (GL, adjustments, allocations, I/Cooperations)
  • Review reconciliation of closings between different SAP modules with Banks
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and control systems.
  • Perform SOX Reviews, documentation, and manage the remediation of any exceptions.
  • Drive teams for continuous improvement and standardization initiatives through project testing, issue management, and latency.
  • Review existing SOBPs for changes on an ongoing basis and ensure they are up to date
  • Ensure accurate service delivery on a timely basis using tools like Dashboard, FCC, etc. for tracking.
  • Assess performance KPI’s, Individual Objectives and plan for successions in the team
  • Provide operational guidance, mentoring and enabling teams to deal with new updates and implement change
  • On-boarding of new employees in the team and allocation of job-based on skill requirements
  • Conduct Talent Review, quarterly check-ins and ensure implementation of IDP action plan for the team Implement functional training – content preparation, training delivery, and assessment
  • Perform competency assessments and provide ongoing coaching and performance feedback to teams
  • Ensuring timely recognition and building a recognition culture within the team

Required Candidate profile

  • Qualification – CA / MBA
  • Minimum 8 yrs of work experience.
  • Knowledge of SOX, US GAAP, IFRS, Indian AS
  • Proficient in SAP, Blackline and MS Office
  • Prior experience in handling teams and people management
  • CPI attitude, trained or having expertise in end to end project implementation
  • Strong ethical mindset and career experience in Internal Audit
