The Ministry of Corporate Affairs ( MCA ) has amended the rules allowing the Chartered Accountants ( CAs ) to appear before the disciplinary committee of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India ( ICAI ) through video conference.
The Ministry has amended Chartered Accountants (Procedure of Investigations of Professional and Other Misconduct and Conduct of cases) Rules, 2007.
"Explanation 2- For the purpose of this rule, the appearance also includes the appearance through video conference and modalities for which may be as formulated by the Institute from time to time."
