The Central Board of Direct Taxes ( CBDT ), vide notification no. S.O. 1771(E) dated 23rd April 2024 has notified the Section 80G deduction Shree Ramanuj Kot Trust to the extent of Rs. 1,63,06,311 under Income Tax Act, 1961.
In accordance with the authority vested by clause (b) of sub-section (2) of section 80G of the Income-tax Act, 1961, the Central Government announces the recognition of "Shree Ramanuj Kot Laxmi Venkatesh Mandir," managed by Shree Ramanuj Kot Trust, Indore, Madhya Pradesh, as a place of historic significance and a renowned public worship site across Madhya Pradesh, for the purposes outlined in the aforementioned section.
This notification specifically pertains to the renovation or repair of the "Shree Ramanuj Kot Laxmi Venkatesh Mandir," up to the amount of Rs. 1,63,06,311/- (Rupees One Crore Sixty Three Lakhs Six Thousand Three Hundred and Eleven only). The validity of this notification extends until the mentioned amount is collected or until March 31, 2029, whichever occurs earlier.
Section 80G of the Income Tax Act offers taxpayers the opportunity to claim deductions for donations they make. This deduction applies specifically to contributions made to certain relief funds and charitable institutions. It's important to note that not all charitable donations qualify for this deduction; only those made to designated funds are eligible.
