CBDT notifies Special Courts in Maharashtra, for Trial of Offences punishable under the Income Tax Act, 1961 [Read Notification]

The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) on Monday notified the courts of Magistrate as the  Special Courts in the State of Maharashtra, for the trial of offenses punishable under the Income Tax Act, 1961.

Firstly, the Board notified, “the 38th Court, Ballard Pier for Mumbai region and 31st Court of Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, Vikhroli for Mumbai including cases at Thane.”

Secondly, the Court of the Chief Judicial Magistrate, Nagpur for the entire Vidarbha region is notified as to the Special Court for the trial of offenses punishable under the Income Tax Act, 1961 and other related matters.

Lastly, the Court of 10th Joint Civil Judge Junior Division and Judicial Magistrate First Class (Court No. 8), Pune for Pune region is designated as Special Court.
