The Central Board of Excise and Customs (CBEC), the apex indirect tax body in India, have launched two technology platforms i.e., ICETAB & ICETRAK as part of the effort towards improving ease of doing business.
“CBEC launches IT tools ICETRAK and ICETAB for trade facilitation and faster clearances – To download ICETRAK, click here here on your Android mobile phone,” the Board said in its Official website today.
Last week, on the occasion of International Customs Day, Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley unveiled the two IT tools i.e. ICETAB & ICETRAK. On the occasion, Jaitely expressed confidence that CBEC would take necessary steps to ensure that India’s ranking in trade across borders would improve substantially.
The IT tool ‘ICETRAK’ is going to be a one-stop Portal for effective communication between trade and the Department of Customs & Central Excise. This is an application facilitates tracking of documents of Imports and Exports, duty calculator, GSTIN Enquiry also information pertaining to Customs Act and Notifications for the trade. This is provided by CBEC as a Trade Facilitation feature.
