The Central Board of Excise and Customs (CBEC) has reduced the documents mandatory for and export and imports.

As per an advisory issued by the Board, only three documents mandatory for general import and exports. They are,

  1. Packing list and commercial invoice merged into a single document for Customs.
  2. No need to submit SDF form with shipping bill (export declaration).
  3. Other documents to be submitted for import and export of special nature under preferential agreements.

It is in the wake of Simplification of Import and Export procedure to facilitate traders.
