A complaint dated 05.12.2023 addressed to Supdt. of Police, CBI, ACB, Lucknow has been received from (name redacted) alleging therein demand of undue advantage of Rs. 5,000/- per month per vehicle for smooth functioning of his business by the Superintendent, Customs, Kakrahwa Border, Siddharthnagar, UP.

The roughly translated version of the complaint reads as follows:

My name is (redacted), I do the work of supplying chickens in Kakarhwa border and surrounding areas.

For the last few days, I have been harassed by the Superintendent, Customs, Kakarhwa Border and his staff and my vehicles are being caught unnecessarily near Kakrahwa Border, and to ensure smooth functioning of my work, the Superintendent, Customs, Kakarhwa Border are demanding bribe of Rs 5000/- per vehicle per month. I have been threatened by them that if I do not pay the bribe, my vehicles will be stopped.

I drive a total of three vehicles, out of which one is mine and two are taken on hire.

Sir, I do not want to give bribes, hence you are requested to please take appropriate action against Pramod Tiwari, Superintendent, Customs, Kakarhwa Border.

The complaint has been discreetly verified which prima facie substantiated the allegations of demand of undue advantage by the Superintendent, Customs, Kakrahwa Border, Siddharthnagar, UP, the Central Bureau of Investigation FIR stated.

The above facts and discreet verification prima facie disclose commission of  offense punishable u/s 7 of PC Act, 1988 (as amended in 2018) on the part of Shri Pramod Tiwari, Superintendent, Customs, Kakrahwa, Siddharth Nagar, UP.

For the above said reasons, a Regular Case was registered and entrusted to Sh. K. K. Mishra, Inspector, CBI, ACB, Lucknow for investigation.
