The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) amended the old circular and issued a new Circular No. 04/2023-Customs on February 21, 2023. The amendment was to add the information about the ex-bond bills of entry and shipping bills to Form A.
It was stated that the warehouse licensees must keep track of the receipt, handling, storage, and removal of the warehoused goods.
In order to record information about receipts, handling, storage, and removal of warehoused items, the Circular No. 25/2016-Customs, dated June 8, 2016, specified “Form A” for record-keeping. It has been noted that the aforementioned form does not expressly collect information from an ex-bond bill of entry or a shipping bill when products are taken out of the warehouse for domestic use or export, respectively.
It is decided to modify Form A of the aforementioned Circular No. 25/2016-Customs by adding a new column, designated as Column No. 25A, after Column No. 25, captioned “Ex. Bond Bill of Entry No. and date/Shipment Bill No. and date,” as shown above. A modified Form A is attached.
