CBIC appoints Two New Members [Read Notification]

The Central Board of Indirect Taxes (CBIC) has appointed two new members to the Board, ie., Ms. Rama Mathew and Mr. Alok Shukla.

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the appointment of the two officers to the posts of Members.

According to the office order issued on Tuesday, “The President of India is pleased to appoint Ms. V. Rama Mathew, 1RS(C&IT:1988) as Member of the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CB.) in the Department of Revenue, Ministry of Finance in Level 17 of the pay 000/- with the status of Special Secretary to the Government of India against the vacancy arising on 01.09.2022 from the date she assumes charge of the post, until further orders or her superannuation, whichever is earlier.”

The office order stated that “The President of India is pleased to appoint Shri Alok Shukla, as Member of the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CI31C) in the Department of Revenue, Ministry of Finance in Level 17 of the pay matrix 2,25,000/- with the status of Special Secretary to the Government of India against the vacancy dated 01.08.2022 from the date he assumes charge of the post, until further orders or his superannuation, whichever is earlier.”
