CBIC Designates Khajod Village, Gujarat Hub for Importing and Exporting Precious and Semi – Precious Goods – TAXSCAN
The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) vide notification no. 74/2023-Customs (N.T.) G.S.R. 726(E) issued on 9th October 2023 has notified the designation of Khajod Village of Gujarat as hub for the importing and exporting of precious and semi-precious stones.
In the exercise of authority as provided by clause (aa) of sub-section (1) in conjunction with sub-section (2) of section 7 of the Customs Act, 1962, the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs hereby introduces the subsequent modification to the notification issued by the Government of India within the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) under No. 100/2017-Customs (N.T.) on the 27th of October, 2017. This notification was published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, Section 3, Sub-section (i) with reference to number G.S.R 1347 (E), dated the 27th of October, 2017.
In the said notification, in the Table, the following item and entries shall be inserted, namely:—

*Explanation- For the purposes of this notification, ''goods'' at S.No. 2 means diamonds, precious and semi- precious stones, pearls, jewellery made of gold or any other precious metal, with or without studding, industrial diamonds including powders, both natural and synthetic and synthetic stones.
