CBIC further extends Deadline for Submission of Cargo Declarations by Authorized Sea Carriers to June 30, 2024 [Read Order]

The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) has issued a notification, in extension of the submission date of cargo declarations for authorized sea carriers.

The notification amends the Sea Cargo Manifest and Transhipment Regulations, 2018. It extends the validity of a provision in regulation 15(2) from “till 31st March 2024” to “till 30th June 2024.”

The amendment is made in accordance with the powers conferred by various sections of the Customs Act, 1962. The Sea Cargo Manifest and Transhipment (First Amendment) Regulations, 2023, come into effect upon their publication in the Official Gazette.

Notbaly, the same was extended earlier to March 31, 2024 by a CBIC Notification.
