CBIC invites suggestions for Review of Customs Duty Exemption Notifications/Laws & Procedures at MyGov Innovate portal

The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) on Tuesday invited the suggestions for review of Customs duty exemption notifications/laws & procedures at MyGov Innovate portal.

The last date to submit the suggestions august 21, 2020.

In the Budget 2020-21 Speech of the Finance Minister wherein it was proposed to crowdsource suggestions for review of Customs duty exemption notifications.

It was also announced that suggestions would be invited in respect of the Customs laws and procedures for aligning them with the needs of changing times and ease of doing business.

“Accordingly, an initiative has been taken to institute a facility at the MyGov Innovate portal (https://innovate.mygov.in/suggestions-for-review-of-existing-customs/) for all the stakeholders/public at large to provide their suggestions online. The last date to submit the suggestions is 21st August 2020,” the instructions said.

“It is requested that field formations under your jurisdiction may be asked to create awareness about this initiative among the public and to actively encourage all the stakeholders, including importers, exporters, domestic industry, trade associations and the public at large to offer their suggestions on the MyGov Innovate portal using the above mentioned online facility,” the Board instructed.
