The Central Board has notified the new TCS ( Tax Collected at Source ) rate of Intra-State Supplies of E-Commerce Operators. It has been reduced to 0.25% from Half per cent. The board has conveyed the modification through the notification no. 15/2024 dated 10th July 2024.

This new notification has amended the notification No. 52/2018-Central Tax, dated the 20th September, 2018. The change according to this notification is as follows :

“In the said notification, for the words “half per cent.”, the figure and word “0.25 per cent.” shall be substituted”.

The notification No. 52/2018-Central Tax, dated the 20th September, 2018 is :

“In exercise of the powers conferred by sub - section (1) of section 52 of the Central Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017 (12 of 2017), the Central Government, on the recommendations of the Council, hereby notifies that every electronic commerce operator, not being an agent, shall collect an amount calculated at a rate of half per cent. of the net value of intra - State taxable supplies made through it by other suppliers where the consideration with respect to such supplies is to be collected by the said operator.”

The above notification states that, as per the recommendation of the GST council, every e-commerce operator, not being an agent shall collect an amount calculated at a rate of half per cent. of the net value of intra-State taxable supplies made through it by other suppliers where the consideration with respect to such supplies is to be collected by the said operator. However, the rate has been reduced to 0.25%.
