CBIC notifies Amendments – Customs and Tariff Laws for Manufacturing of AK – 203 Rifle – TAXSCAN
The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) vide notification No. 56/2023-Customs G.S.R. 674(E) issued on 15th September 2023 has amended customs and tariff laws for manufacturing AK-203 Rifles. The notification came into force on the publication of notification in the gazette.
In the exercise of authority granted under section 25(1) of the Customs Act, 1962, and section 3(12) of the Customs Tariff Act, 1975, the Central Government, recognizing the necessity in the public interest, introduced the following additional amendments to the notification issued by the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue), known as No. 19/2019-Customs, dated July 6, 2019, which was published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, Section 3, Sub-section (i), under number G.S.R. 476(E), also dated July 6, 2019.
In the said notification, in the Table, for Sl. No. 23 and the entries relating thereto, the following Sl. No. and entries shall be substituted, namely: -

| “23. | 49,73,84, 85, 90 or 93 | (I) Parts, sub-parts, inputs for use in manufacture of AK- 203 rifle; (II) Machinery, Fixtures, Gauges, Tools, and Jigs for goods mentioned at (I) above; (III) Technical documentation in respect of goods mentioned at (I) and (II) above” |
