CBIC revises Customs Tariff Values of Edible Oils, Brass Scrap, Areca Nuts, Gold, and Silver [Read Notification]

CBIC – Customs Tariff Values of Edible Oils – Brass Scrap – Areca Nuts – Gold, and Silver – TAXSCAN

The Central Board of Indirect Taxes & Customs ( CBIC ), under the Ministry of Finance, has issued notification no. 53/2024-CUSTOMS ( N.T. ) dated July 31, 2024, amending the tariff value of crude palm oil, gold, silver, and areca nuts, effective from August 1, 2024.

The tariff values for Crude Palm Oil, RBD Palm Oil, Other Palm Oils, Crude Palmolein, RBD Palmolein, Other Palmoleins, and Crude Soybean Oil have been adjusted, with some values increased and others reduced. The tariff value of areca nuts has been lowered to $6,242 per metric tonne.

In the said notification, for TABLE-1, TABLE-2, and TABLE-3 the following Tables shall be substituted, namely: -

Explanation. - For the purposes of this entry, silver in any form shall not include foreign currency coins, jewellery made of silver or articles made of silver908 per kilogram
4 (i) Gold bars, other than tola bars, bearing manufacturer’s or refiner’s engraved serial number and weight expressed in metric units; (ii) Gold coins having gold content not below 99.5% and gold findings, other than imports of such goods through post, courier or baggage. Explanation. - For the purposes of this entry, “gold findings” means a small component such as hook, clasp, clamp, pin, catch, screw back used to hold the whole or a part of a piece of Jewellery in place.769 per 10 grams
