The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC), on Monday, issued the instruction wherein it revised the Testing Requirement under Regulation of Import of Livestock products and Livestock Importation Act, 1898 and amendments made from time to time.

The department has decided to reiterate the 3 parts of the office memorandum issued on July 15, 2020, vide file no L-110110/1/2020-Trade (E-14819) which specified the ease of doing business.

“To Facilitate “Ease of Doing Business” and early clearance of imported consignments of livestock products, no custom sealed sample will be required or collected by AQCS for clearance of imported consignments under No Testing (NT) category. These imported consignments will be granted AQCS clearance on the Single Window System (SWS) based on the Veterinary Health Certificate uploaded on the SWS along with other relevant documents while filing Bill of Entry by the importer,” the instructions said.
