The Central Government has announced the introduction of the Online facility of requesting appointment for virtual meeting/personal hearing to exporters from the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) office on 31st May 2023 with effect from June 1st 2023.

The objective to implement the online facility is to improve the Trade Facilitation and also to extend the proactive hand-holding and support to the exporting community. The exporters would be able to attend personal hearings through a video call. Thus they can avoid the difficulties of appearing before the authorities physically.

According to the notification, exporters will be able to request an online personal hearing through this tool, and the concerned RA officials of the  Directorate General of Foreign Trade shall give an appropriate time as well as a link for the virtual hearing via the online facility.

Steps to Avail Online Facility in DGFT website

The exporters may apply for VC facility for their online hearing on the DGFT website, on which support is required, using the following steps:

  1. Go to DGFT website https://dgft.gov.in
  2. Navigate to Services
  3. Request for Video Conferencing

The option will be available from June 1st, 2023. The Exporting Community may also refer to the Help manuals for suitable guidance on the DGFT Website —>Learn —> ‘Application Help &FAQs’.

The video conferencing removes the geographical constraints, allowing people and organisations to interact and cooperate on a worldwide scale. This facility will definitely help the business people to use their time for the best.

This online facility will undoubtedly assist business owners in avoiding the challenges of physically attending the personal hearings. Additionally, all departments ought to offer this service to prevent unanticipated delays brought on by the postponement of personal hearings owing to personal matters or other factors.
