Central Govt notifies amendment in – Rules of Appointment – Qualification – Salary and other Terms and Conditions of – CCI officers – TAXSCAN
On 5th August 2023, the Ministry of Corporate Affairs issued notification number G.S.R. 587(E), issuing the modification in the rules governing the appointment, qualification, salary, and other terms of service for officers of the Competition Commission of India (CCI). It came into force on 5th August 2023.
The Competition Commission of India (Number of Additional, Joint, Deputy or Assistant Director-General other officers and employees, their manner of appointment, qualification, salary, allowances and other terms and conditions of service) Rules, 2009 has been amended and it shall be called as “Competition Commission of India (Number of Additional, Joint, Deputy or Assistant Director-General, other officers and employees, their manner of appointment, qualification, salary, allowances and other terms and conditions of service) Amendment Rules, 2023”.
A new Rule 7A has been inserted right after Rule 7. The new rule states that “ Selection Committee shall devise its own procedure for selection and recommend a panel of at least three names for appointment and the Commission shall appoint any person recommended by the selection committee after obtaining prior approval of the Central Government”.
The notification also notified the amendments in different pay scale levels and such officers’ selection committee.
According to the amendment, the summary of new Selection Committee for Selection consists of:
