Central Govt revises Export Policy condition of Human Biological Samples [Read Notification]

The government has updated the export policy conditions concerning human biological samples. This revision was announced by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade ( DGFT ) through Notification No. 72/2023 dated March 11, 2024.

By virtue of the authority vested in it under Section 3, read with Section 5 of the Foreign Trade (Development & Regulation) Act, 1992, as amended, in conjunction with Para 1.02 and 2.01 of the Foreign Trade Policy, 2023, the Central Government has hereby modified the Export Policy pertaining to Chapter 30, which deals with Human Biological Samples.

Revised Policy Condition

  1. Any human biological materials/samples/products which are related to activities covered under the provision of Drugs & Cosmetics Act 1940 & Rules thereunder are free for export subject to No objection from COSCO.
  2. Any human biological material/samples/products NOT covered under (1) above are free for export subject to NO objection from ICMR/DHR.
