The Central Government has revised the Standard Input and Output Norms (SION) for Leather, Leather Products, and Footwear through the issuance of Public Notice No. 30/2023 on September 1, 2023. The notification shall come into force from 15th
By virtue of the authority granted in accordance with Paragraph 1.03 and 2.04 of the Foreign Trade Policy (FTP), 2023, with any amendments that may have occurred, the Director General of Foreign Trade now makes revisions to certain Standard Input and Output Norms (SIONs) for Leather, Leather Products, and Footwear, as well as Serial No. 7 of the General Note for Leather & Leather Products, as detailed below:
- Revision of SIONs: SION nos G3, G3 A-New Entry, G4, G5, G6, G7, G8, G9, G10, G11, G12, G13, G14, G15, G16, G17, G22, G23, G24, G25, G26, G27, G28, G29, G30, G31, G40, G43, G44, G45, G46 are revised as per Annexure ‘A’ to this PN.
- 2. Revision of General Note for Leather & Leather Products: Serial No. 7 is revised as per Annexure ‘B’ to this PN.
SION are predefined standards that specify the quantity of input materials or resources needed to produce a unit of output for export purposes. These norms are applicable to various product categories such as electronics, engineering, chemicals, food products including fish and marine products, handicrafts, plastics, leather goods, and more. The DGFT notifies the SION in the Handbook and it is officially approved by its Board of Directors.
